MAXON UK’s Matt Umney offers a look into using Cinema 4D R19’s new Polygon Reduction tool. Polygon Reduction has been in previous C4D versions, but it has been overhauled for this. One major change is that the Polygon Reduction tool is now a generator instead of a deformer. Now it can be found under the Modeling Scene Helper Objects. As a generator, it is easier to quickly increase and decrease the strength of the reduction on the model. The new system can preserve both UVs and vertex maps, including selection tags as well.“For someone who deal’s in 3D scanning, this little object is a thing of beauty,” says Matt. “In just a few clicks I can lower the polygon count astronomically and still retain the general shape and texture. This is going to make the manipulation of 3D scanned objects or heavy CAD data so much easier.”Learn more about here.

In Cinema 4D Release 19, polygon reduction has gone through a major overhaul, moving polygon reduction to a generator instead of a deformer like in previous versions. When an object is placed under the generator, it will go through a pre-processing phase where the geometry you wish to reduce is created. This can take several moments depending on the number of polygons in your original object. The polygon reducer, as well as many other 3D mesh processing tools, are. Move super-massive oil & gas platforms into 3ds Max, Maya, Cinema-4D, Unity. PolyTrans and NuGraf software packages, which is included for free as part of.

Here’s a super fun 3D model from The Pixel Lab, the Ecto-1 low poly vehicle from Ghostbusters. The original movie is one of my favorites. Just looking at this model makes me hear the crazy whiny siren. Now it’s stuck in your head too, isn’t it?

Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Low Poly Vehicle

Poly

Here’s what Joren from The Pixel Lab has to say about this model:

New freebie today from my friend Remco van der Meer! It’s a low poly version of the Ghostbusters Ecto-1, which is a cultural icon! The model comes in two versions. One is an Arnold Render for Cinema 4D version, and the other is a straight Physical render version for Cinema 4D. Alternatively you could delete the roof rack and crazy ghost busting paraphernalia and use this as a regular low poly vehicle. Wonderware intouch download.
