Lennyd35, It's ok! But PLEASE add this extra functionality and it will be greatPlease, please add the ability to ChromeCast the desktop and sort out keyboard problems. Arrow keys do not work on my Bluetooth keyboard. And update so I can just use phone screen as mouse / track pad with 2 finger for right click.I currently have to carry a laptop with me to do my development even though my development computer is in the cloud.
This is really frustrating as all I do is use my laptop to use Remote Desktop. I travel a lot and carry a chromecast around with me. If I could do all my development through my phone with Bluetooth keyboard this would be perfect. Hotels always have decent screens I can plug my chrome cast into so no need to have a monitor or cables.
Mackman99, Good but can be frustratingAn easy to use, and free, way to control your laptop or desktop via an iPhone.I started using Chrome Remote Desktop because the Windows alternative is insecure and requires port redirection. At first it was perfect but over time the apps limitations have made me look at alternatives. There is no way to send cursor keys, or the tab key, which means I can’t engage with a remote terminal on my windows box. When you flick away then back to the app you have to reconnect. These may seem minor issues but over time they become more and more annoying.
As a part of Google’s effort to, Google is moving Chrome Remote Desktop to the web. You can now access it through a browser instead of loading up the app on your computer. You’ll still need to install the Chrome Remote Desktop Host onto the computer you want to access, but that’s pretty standard for any remote desktop app. Once you’ve installed it, you can head to the website, log in, and remote into the computer.Read Next:The browser-based tool has also gotten a facelift.
