I have a problem with the.ATI Radeon 2600. graphic adapter that makes my two iMacs de facto inoperable with Windows XP SP2 (boot camp installation). Unfortunately there is no possibility to update the ATI video driver provided with boot camp (dated 06-2007).

The more up-to-date drivers (Catalyst 7.1 and Omega) for Windows XP provided by ATI can not be applied to the ATI Radeon 2600 graphic adapter, because they do not recognize the adapter modell. I guess this is because Apple modified the adapter BIOS and made a 'Radeon 2600 PRO' out of a Radeon 2600 XT in order to meet the technical needs of the iMac concerning heat, power and fan speed.

That Radeon 2600 PRO seems not to be supported by ATI in any way. Obviously Apple produced a rather big problem by changing the adapter software and drivers, no matter whether Mac OS 10.4.
